Honey harvesting in the BeeValley apiary

Honey harvesting is one of the most important moments in the beekeeping season. At BeeValley, our scale is growing from just a few kilograms a year to several hundred.

Honey harvesting is one of the most anticipated moments in the apiary. This is when we can see the results of many weeks of work by the bees, as well as the daily care given by beekeepers to the health and strength of the bee colonies.

At BeeValley, each season shows us how much our work is developing. We started with small amounts of honey – just a few kilograms a year. Today, thanks to a larger number of hives, greater experience and stronger bee colonies, our production is growing to several hundred kilograms of honey per season.

When is honey harvested?

Honey is harvested when the bees have finished ripening it. Ready honey is stored in honeycombs, which the bees seal with a thin layer of wax. This is a sign that excess water has evaporated and that the honey is ready for extraction.

We do not rush this process. For us, it is important that the honey is mature, natural and of high quality. That is why every harvest is preceded by a careful assessment of the frames and the condition of the bee colony.

What does honey harvesting look like?

During honey harvesting, we gently remove frames filled with mature honey from the hives. We do this carefully, so as not to disturb the bees more than necessary.

The frames are then taken to the workshop, where we uncap the honeycombs and place them in the honey extractor. Through spinning, the honey flows out of the comb cells. It is then filtered and poured into settling tanks.

It is a simple but very important process. It requires cleanliness, patience and respect for the work of the bees.

From a few kilograms to several hundred

The development of the BeeValley apiary is a source of pride for us. Our first harvests were small, but they meant a great deal – they showed us how much can be achieved through consistent work and good care for the bees.

Year by year, we learned more: how to manage bee colonies better, how to care for their health, how to recognise the best moment to harvest honey, and how to develop the apiary responsibly.

Today, the scale is much larger. We have gone from a few kilograms of honey a year to several hundred kilograms, but our approach has remained the same – healthy bees, natural honey and honest work are what matter most.

Honey straight from the apiary

Every jar of BeeValley honey is the result of cooperation between people and nature. The bees do the most important work, and we make sure that their effort is properly respected.

Honey harvesting is not just a technical stage of the season. It is a moment when we can truly see how alive and strong the apiary is.

Thanks to the growth of BeeValley, we can share our honey with more and more people, without losing what matters most to us: quality, naturalness and respect for bees.

Summary

Honey harvesting is a special time in the apiary. At BeeValley, it reminds us how far we have come – from a few kilograms of honey a year to several hundred kilograms of natural honey straight from the hives.

For us, it is a sign that the apiary is growing, the bees are developing well, and our work has real meaning.

Every jar of honey is part of this story.
